The cover story of the new issue of Us Weekly is all about Bethenny Frankel filing for divorce from Jason Hoppy. No turning back as Frankel rules out reconciliation, and Hoppy begrudgingly prepares for battle!
Since announcing the end of her nearly three-year marriage to Jason Hoppy December 23, the Bravo star turned Skinnygirl magnate has been pushing their split along with the same tenacity that made her a multimillion-dollar businesswoman. Days before her glum brunch, the former Real Housewives of New York City star, 42, filed a summons for divorce, asking for primary custody of their daughter, Bryn, 2, as well as child support. “She doesn’t want to drag it out,” explains a Frankel friend. In turn, the typically passive Hoppy knows it’s time to join the fight. “He feels used — like she just wanted him for a baby,” says a pal of the pharmaceutical sales exec, 41. “He plans to ask her for a big payout.” Up until Frankel filed, Hoppy still believed they could repair their broken union. “He was hoping she was just going through a phase,” says a source. Though the pair inked a prenup days before their March 2010 wedding, Hoppy believes he still deserves a large payout, says a Hoppy friend. “He feels like he gave up his career for her. He basically stopped working to support her and wants to be compensated for it.”
Also in the new issue of Us, Kim Kardashian discusses how she and baby-daddy, Kanye West, plan to handle parenthood. Kim discounts E!’s December 31 statement, in which the network president gushed, “We look forward to sharing the joy.” When asked on New Year’s Eve if she plans to put her baby on TV, she calmly told Us: “No.” Spotlight-loving Kim is even leery of a pricey “first look!” photo exclusive. “She doesn’t want the baby to be seen for the first six months,” says the Kim source. “She’s ready to dial back from being so public.” Still, the duo never thought they would start a family before Kim’s divorce from [Kris] Humphries was final. Per California law, Humphries is the presumed father since they have not yet been granted even a separation. If he were to make the claim he’s the dad, Kim would have to present convincing evidence, such as a DNA test. So marriage will have to wait, even with West “dying to propose,” says a source close to the rapper. While the thought of a Kardashian away from cameras may seem shocking, anything is possible, says Kim: “It’s a new year and a new beginning!”

He can sing “baby” all he wants: SELENA Gomez is not taking Justin Bieber back this time. Although the pop star, 18, and his on and- off girlfriend, 20, journeyed to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, for a New Year’s trip, their happy holiday was cut short when Gomez abruptly flew home to Los Angeles on December 30. “They had another huge fight, and Selena won’t forgive him,” an insider tells Hot Stuff. Another source explains, “They had mutual trust issues.” It certainly seems final this time. Gomez spent New Year’s Eve at an L.A. house party with some pals, then ominously tweeted on January 1, “New beginnings. Fresh start.” For his part, Bieber rang in 2013 with rapper buddy Lil Twist and flirted with various girls at L.A. club Couture. Bieber’s scandal-filled antics in the first days of the year — TMZ posted pictures of him smoking what appeared to be pot on January 2, one day after a paparazzo was killed chasing his Ferrari — won’t win him points with Team Gomez, either. “Her parents think he’s a bad influence on her,” says the insider. Adds a friend: “Selena is done with him.”
