Chris McMillan

Living Proof announced today that Chris McMillan, long-time hair stylist to Jennifer Aniston, will be joining their team as Celebrity Hairstylist. Living Proof has distinguished itself by attracting world-class stylists and scientists and utilizing advanced scientific technologies that originated from MIT to solve women’s toughest beauty problems.

In his new role, McMillan will be actively engaged in brand building, product development, and retail/salon events and programs. He joins a powerhouse team of stylists that includes Ward Stegerhoek (Co-Founder and Editorial Stylist), Mitch DeRosa (Co-Founder and Salon Owner), and Tim Rogers (Creative Director).

“Jen has the most beautiful hair in the world and one of the main reasons for that is Chris. He creates eye-catching cuts and coveted styles that translate from the red carpet to everyday life. We couldn’t wait to welcome Chris to the team,” says Jill Beraud, Living Proof CEO. “He will help us develop more cutting edge products with his tremendous energy and ideas while using his incredible talent to inspire stylists and consumers everywhere.”

McMillan brings with him a rich portfolio of editorial work – namely covers for Vogue, Vanity Fair, and Rolling Stone – and an impressive roster of celebrity clients, like Miley Cyrus, Michelle Williams, Hugh Jackman, and, most notably, longtime client Jennifer Aniston, Living Proof’s co-owner and haircare spokesperson.

His partnership with the company was a natural one after Aniston introduced him to the brand. "Chris and I have worked together for years and have always discussed doing something together that would be innovative, fresh and have the actual science behind it," says Aniston.

After using the products in his salon and seeing their demonstrable results on Aniston’s hair, McMillan was eager to learn more. “And after meeting with the scientists and Ward Stegerhoek, who’s been a role model of mine for many years, I was sold. I love that Living Proof approaches hair differently and actually delivers real innovation and science for both stylists and the everyday woman,” says McMillan. “I have clients who have had really damaged hair, and I’ve given them the Restore shampoo and conditioner along with a really good haircut. Two months later, when they come back, it’s unbelievable – their hair has grown an inch and a half. It looks healthy. It looks shiny.”

Stegerhoek adds, “Chris is a really gifted stylist and amazing when it comes to cutting hair,” says Stegerhoek. “He knows how to create looks that women want – aspirational but attainable at the same time. This is very much what Living Proof is about.”

In just five short years, Living Proof has found a winning formula: one where beauty meets brilliant science. Living Proof has garnered over 34 industry awards for its haircare products. The company is a two-time winner of the coveted Allure Best Beauty Breakthrough Award and recently picked up two more Allure awards in 2012 for frizz and Restore hair products. It has also won a prestigious Edison Award – twice for its breakthrough technologies.
