Elizabeth Murray

Everybody Knows...Elizabeth Murray is an intimate portrait of one of the greatest painters of our times. An early feminist and mother of three, the film gives viewers a privileged window into the artist’s struggles to balance family life while realizing her ferocious singular artistic drive. The film chronicles her remarkable journey with vérité footage and exclusive interviews with art world luminaries. The film also offers her personal insights as the artist is diagnosed with lung cancer while at the very height of her career. Murray’s struggles are reflected in her private journals, voiced in the film by Meryl Streep. The film will make its world premiere at the new Whitney Museum in Chelsea in conjunction with the Tribeca Film Festival. Pre-eminent production designer Kristi Zea makes her feature directorial debut with this film.
