CHEVY CHASE SUPORTS SAMUEL WAXMAN

Donald Fagen Of Steely Dan Dr. Samuel Waxman And Chevy Chase At the 11 annual Samuel Waxman Foundation Benefit, “Collaborating for a Cure”, Honorary Chair Chevy Chase opened the live auction with a chance to bid on an evening with him and wife, Jayni, at the Waverly Inn, which sold for $20,000. Auctioneer Hugh Hildesley of Sotheby’s proved guests of the benefit were in the spirit of giving when he enticed six people to donate $50,000 to the foundation without an auction item even in the bidding. A total of $4 million was raised at the benefit, with $1.2 million from the live auction. Steely Dan & the Lost Trailers closed the evening with a bravura concert performance at the benefit. Guests included Dr. Samuel & Marion Waxman, Michael & Ellin Nierenberg, Tamara Tunie of Law & Order: SVU, jazz singer Gregory Generet, CANCER101 founder Monica Knoll and Joey Kramer drummer for Aerosmith. Nick Lachey The sold out 10th Annual Collaborating for a Cure Benefit for the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation went off without a hitch raising a record-breaking $5.7 million. The evening’s host, Chevy Chase incited a $60,000 bidding war when a private dinner party with Chevy himself hit the auction block. Also up for auction was a round of golf with the alluring Mark Wahlberg. Celebrity guests included singer Nick Lachey and his entourage of handlers, actress Ileana Douglas, Cancer 101 founder Monica Knoll and actor Jesse Johnson fresh from filming “Prey” with his hot momma Patti D’Arbanville who just signed on for the 5th season of ‘Rescue Me’.
