GAY HISTORY: THE DEATH AND LIFE OF MARSHA P. JOHNSON

Image
THE DEATH AND LIFE OF MARSHA P. JOHNSON
This is a must watch movie to learn about gay history and the fight for equal rights.
Marsha P. Johnson was one of the icons of the gay rights movement in the 1960s, the self-described "street queen" of NY's gay ghetto, and founded the Transvestites Action Revolutionaries with fellow luminary Sylvia Rivera. When Johnson's body was found in the Hudson River in 1992, police called it a suicide and didn't investigate. In David France's new documentary, trans activist Victoria Cruz seeks to uncover the truth of her death while celebrating her legacy.
Victoria Cruz is amazing in this documentary. As she works to uncover what happened to Marsha P. Johnson, it brings back so many memories of the old gay scene in NYC and what is was like to be gay in the 70's and 80's.
I knew gay life from a different viewpoint. I was down at the piers, I watched the prostitution on West 10th street, but the difference was I was enjoyi…

DOG THE BOUNTY HUNTER'S BETH CHAPMAN DEAD AT 51

Image
I am very sad on the news of Beth Chapman's death. I really liked her. A few times when Dog The Bounty Hunter and Beth came to New York City, I got the honor to hang out with them. We had dinner with a great crowd of friends and had more laughs than I can remember. We also happened to be on FOX News the same night and we took pictures of them taking me away in handcuffs. So much fun.
Beth Chapman died of stage II throat cancer after a diagnosis in 2017.
“It’s 5:32 in Hawaii, this is the time she would wake up to go hike Koko Head mountain,” her husband Duane “Dog” Chapman tweeted Wednesday. “Only today, she hiked the stairway to heaven. We all love you, Beth. See you on the other side.”
A rep for the Chapmans tells PEOPLE, “Beth died at 5:32 this morning, the same time she would wake up to go hiking Koko Head. The exact same time. She was surrounded by family and Dog was there, holding her hand.”

Image
It is a very sad day for us old time media reporters. NY Post legend Steve Dunleavy has died in his Long Beach Long Island home at 81.
Dunleavy was the last of the old time hard drinking newsman. I spent a lot of time with Steve in our hangout Langans and partying around New York City going from party to party.  We had many adventures.
I remember a few of them. Geraldo Rivera I remember had a boat cruise around Manhattan. We got ripped. Dunleavy was working at A Current Affair then. At the end of the cruise I asked Dunleavy to pose with the handicapped kids in wheelchairs that were on the cruise. He sat on their laps and they loved it. We left the docks together. He wanted to go to Current Affair studios at FOX 5 and I was so drunk I could not remember where they were. We got into a cab and Dunleavy passed out. I kept trying to wake him up to tell the cab driver where the studio was, to no avail.  The cab I had cruising around the Eastside to find the studio, Dunleavy wanted to go t…
