PHILANTHROPIST JEAN SHAFIROFF SET TO CHAIR SOUTHAMPTON HISTORY MUSEUM GALA JULY 1ST, 2023

  Jean Shafiroff Celebrity philanthropist Jean Shafiroff will chair the Halsey House Gala for the Southampton History Museum on Saturday July 1, 2023 from 5:30 to 8PM in Southampton, NY.  The event which features a night of drinks and dancing is always a highlight of the opening season.    A Patrick Mcmullan photographer will be on hand to shoot photos.  Patrick himself may even show up.  To purchase tickets, go to southamtonhistory.org or call (631) 283-2494.  TICKETS ARE REASONABLY PRICED.   Lizzie Asher Mick Jagger & Melanie Hamrick Mexican writer Laura Esquivel’s poignant romance Like Water for Chocolate once again brought together the best of the Latin world to celebrate the beginning of ABT’s Summer Season. This time as an adaptation into a three-act ballet featuring the award-winning team of choreographer Christopher Wheeldon, conductor Alondra de la Parra, composer Joby Talbot, with scenery and costumes by Bob Crowley. Talbot’s music infused the Metropolitan Opera House with the sounds of indigenous instruments like a bean pod shaker rattle, the cedar flute and the guitar, performed by Mexican guest artist Tomas Barreiro. The NYCC celebrated 28 years of helping New York City's children heal from abuse.  The event was generously hosted by The Peninsula New York, a treasured partner of NYCC since 2009.  This year's Spring Celebration focused on the important role of art in helping children heal and raised over $150,000 for NYCC's vital services.    Olga Ferrara Founded in 1995, NYCC provides trauma focused therapy services to children who have experienced physical and sexual abuse, for as long as their healing requires. NYCC's services to children and families are free of charge and NYCC relies on donations to ensure it is able to provide these services.
