ROBERT DAVI'S 'NEW YORK CITY CHRISTMAS'

Robert Davi New York City Christmas

Robert Davi has one of those faces — constantly recognized but not always placed in context. He’s been seen in well over 100 films and TV shows, most often as a bad guy (Jake Fratelli in The Goonies, Bond villain Franz Sanchez in Licence to Kill, mob associate Leonard Marks in The Iceman, among so many others). He was FBI agent Bailey Malone in the successful TV series Profiler that ran on NBC from the 1996 through 2000 seasons. In addition, Davi is a trained and highly skilled singer. And the contrast between his acting choices and music is most interesting.

He describes his Long Island childhood: “I grew up in an Italian-Catholic home. We worshiped two people. The Pope and Frank Sinatra. Not necessarily in that order.” His first movie role was in 1977‘s Contract On Cherry Street, Sinatra’s first made-for-television movie and it was Frank Sinatra who cast him. Since then, he's work with most of our top directors and actors and is constantly busy. His latest film is Expendables 3.

All along, Davi has been singing Sinatra’s Great American Songbook and, in 2011, released Davi Sings Sinatra: On The Road To Romance, an album of standards produced by Phil Ramone. He’s taken the show on the road, playing across the country,— from California to Las Vegas to New York (including a “homecoming” concert on Long Island before an audience on 10,000 people in August).

Robert Davi’s newest song is "New York City Christmas," released November 26. It is a song with appeal everywhere because New York — the tree at Rockefeller Center by the ice rink, the store windows — all that is a New York City holiday season — belongs to everyone, not just New Yorkers. Christmas in New York is something known across the nation, if not the world. This song, "A New York City Christmas," paints a perfect picture in words, capturing New York at Christmas — the tree, the skaters....even mentions the delicious roasted chestnuts. The music and lyrics are by Nick Vallelonga. It is available on iTunes and Amazon.com.
