Held in the gardens of the storied Thomas Halsey House, one of the oldest English colonial dwellings in New York State, the benefit drew friends, supporters, and neighbors for a joyful night of food, music, and celebration. This year’s honorees, Cheryl L. Carter and Edward R. Donovan, were presented with a proclamation by Southampton Village Mayor William Manger Jr. and a citation from NYS Assembly Member Rebecca A. This neighborly lawn party "Be-In" takes place at Southampton’s oldest home - The Thomas Halsey Homestead, established in 1648 by one of our founding families. Halsey House Southampton Summer Poetry Workshops and Readings at Historic 1680 Halsey House lead by award-winning poet Tammy Nuzzio DESCRIPTION: Take just one or take them all. The Academy will explore a wide body of poetry including the writings of Anne Bradstreet, Walt Whitman, Allen Ginsburg, Pablo Neruda, and many others whose poetry reflected and defined the times in which they lived. Tammy Nuzzo-Morgan, 2017 WWBA Long Island Poet of the Year, will lead this informal series of workshops, open to both novice and more experienced poets. Museum members dressed in Colonial era costumes strolled the beautiful gardens of the historic house which is currently We enjoyed fabulous hors d'oeuvres, cocktails – especially with the new luxury Double Cross Vodka and a silent auction of art, books and wine.
