Yesterday, Hollywood star and Golden Globe-nominee Colin Firth celebrated his unveiling of the 2,429th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at a luncheon at Delphine’s Restaurant in Los Angeles. Hosted by New York philanthropist and socialite Jean Shafiroff [Chairman of Southampton Hospital, board member of JBFCS, and member of French Heritage Society, Lighthouse International and The Couture Council] the lunch brought out A-list guests including Firth’s wife film producer/director Livia Giuggioli, The King’s Speech director Tom Hooper, The King’s Speech actors Guy Pearce and Claire Bloom, actors Jon Voight, Tony Shalhoub, George Takei, and Peter “Mark” Richman, actresses Cloris Leachman, Jane Seymour, Rosanna Arquette, Brooke Adams, Jacqueline Bisset , Salome Jens, K Callan and Juliette Lewis, producers Lawrence Bender and Paula Silver, director Peter Medak, actor/ director Danny Huston and Robert Loggia, cinematographer/director Ellen Kuras, director/screenwriter/producer John D. Singleton, celebrity hairstylist and Byu-Ti Salon owner Natasha Sunshine, and singer/songwriter Chris Andrews. Guests were treated to a special cocktail featuring Tequila AviĆ³n featured on the hit show Entourage. During the private event Hooper toasted Firth and his performance in his Golden Globe-nominated film The King’s Speech. Firth has received many awards and nominations in recognition for his role as King George VI, which includes the British Independent Film Award for Best Actor. Firth is also known for his roles in such well-established films as A Single Man, Love Actually, Girl with a Pearl Earring and Shakespeare in Love.


The critically acclaimed film has made a lasting impression this Awards Season, taking home the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival’s People’s Choice Award, British Independent Film Awards for Best Screenplay (David Seidler), Best Supporting Actor (Geoffrey Rush), Best Supporting Actress (Helena Bonham Carter) and New York Film Critics Circle Awards Best Actor (Colin Firth).
