Sag Harbor has seen a revival; Phao restaurant has taken the East End by storm thanks to visionaries Tora Matsuoka and Jeff Resnick. Hamptonites themselves, the two know when to shakes things up – and they did with an innovative and exquisite menu of Thai fare that is complemented by a sultry, stylish décor. Phao brings diners around the world testing their palates leaving them wanting more. The revived eatery is located on Main Street and lures diners in with sultry appeal of dark-wood flooring, a gold tile wall and an acid-etched L-shaped bar. Foodies travel to Phuket at this hotspot and nosh on traditional dishes such as Pad Thai (rice noodles, tamarind, shallots, bean sprouts, peanuts and your choice of chicken, shrimp or tofu) and the Shrimp Lemongrass Soup (a flavorful citrus seafood broth made with galangal and kaffir lime leaves). Dinner is served nightly from 5:30 PM to 10:30 PM Sunday through Thursday; 5:30 PM to 11:00 PM Friday and Saturday.
