Saturday night was The official kickoff party for the acclaimed upcoming feature film “An Affirmative Act” held at NYC celebrity hotspot ROAM . Once passed the velvet ropes at the guest list only private event was more than one could expect with tasty sandwiches in hand courtesy of Project Sandwich and Numerous industry insiders who came out to support the film and its most talked about subject line the legalization of gay marriage. Tony Award winner Charles Durning will star in the feature film An Affirmative Act, written and produced by Kenneth Del Vecchio. Jana Mattioli is set to direct, and the movie will premiere at the Hoboken International Film Festival in June 2010. The film is billed as the first-ever courtroom drama about the legalization of Gay Marriage. It will also feature Blanch Baker, Robert Clohessy, Justin Deas, Randy Jones, Costas Mandylor, Jackie Martling, Tom Waites ,Rachael Robbins, Candice Holdorf, Elissa Goldstein, Jeffrey H. Johns, Keith Collins, Julia Weldon, Charles Grady, Allegra Cohen & many more. A slice of life of a young, professional married couple with their darling baby turns a sharp, dark corner when the pair are arrested and charged with several counts of fraud. The reason: Terry and Samantha Succi aren't the man and woman that they purported to be. In truth, they are two women. One, a long haired, pretty school teacher; the other, a boyish-looking architect, who tricked the world surrounding her into thinking she was a man.One affirmative act, deciding not only the fate of the women's freedom, but also the governor's bill and one of the most controversial issues facing the United States. One affirmative act - of justice, or maybe not... Also spotted was former New York Yankee Billy Sample.
