BLONDIE DEBBIE HARRY DOING STAGE PLAY

Legend Debbie Harry

Debbie Harry will provide the songs for a stage musical of the film 'Desperately Seeking Susan'.The theatre adaptation of the 1985 film - which starred Madonna - will feature 18 tracks by Debbie's band Blondie, with the 62-year-old singer also penning new material for the show. Debbie said: "The story just works with the lyrics. I thought it was a good idea, really smart. I would love it to come to Broadway. It's a live show so it's going to be different from the film, probably more light-hearted."Harry's new song is called 'Moment of Truth' and is said to be "based on an R'n'B idea".The original film featured Rosanna Arquette as a bored suburban housewife Roberta Glass, who suffers amnesia after a blow to the head. She then mistakenly assumes the identity of a free-spirited New York drifter named Susan. The stage version will feature Blondie hits including 'Heart of Glass','Atomic', 'The Tide Is High' and 'Dreaming'.Emma Williams, 24, will take the role of Susan in the theatre production, while Kelly Price will play Roberta Glass. The musical is set to open on October 12 at London's Novello Theatre.
