The newest hotspot on the East River seems to be Frank Ottomanelli's By The Water who is drawing the celebrity crowd. Last weekend Rapper Max B, (born Charly Wingate) who was convicted on 9 of 11 counts, including felony murder, armed robbery, and conspiracy and sentenced to 75 years.  His conviction was vacated after his legal team argued that his original trial attorney had a conflict of interest. He then took a plea deal for aggravated manslaughter, reducing his overall sentence to 20 years. He served 16 of those years and was released from a New Jersey Prison in Nov 2025.

According to retired celebrity photographer James Edstrom who witnessed the frenzy , the crowd went crazy as Max B. did magazine interviews and photo shoots wearing huge amounts of gold jewelry.  Owner Ottomanelli brought over his signature burgers and Fries for the rapper to try. The crowd got so huge, Ottomanelli had to bring over Velvet Ropes to keep the fans at bay.
