In Louisville Kentucky the stars showed up in their Kentucky Derby best to The Style Icon Suites Presented by New Era. Best known as the official cap of MLB and NFL, New Era is showcasing their fashionable EK Collection including Fedoras, Newsboys, Pork Pies and Driver caps inspired by vintage style with an updated, modern design.
Guy Fieri, a self proclaimed longtime fan of New Era who sauntered into the lounge asking, "Where's the big head section?" Accompanied by Oakland Raiders' Marcel Reece, the two simultaneously tried on identical Pork Pie hats and joked - "We're twins!"
David Arquette rolled out of bed and came straight to the New Era suite, "I'm so tired but I love New Era so I had to come by".
Also seen enjoying the suite was Joey Fatone who took a break from his Dancing With The Stars Las Vegas Show to enjoy the Derby - and some headwear! Fatone choose two hats - a black fedora for the Friday night gala, and another to wear to the Derby.
The always entertaining Beverly Hills Housewife Brandi Glanville showed up to the suites looking fit and fabulous. She was rushing to the airport but made sure to make New Era her last stop in Louisville and she couldn't resist the EK Collection, the perfect Kentucky Derby souvenir.
Although he was suffering from a miserable toothache, The Blind Side's Quinton Aaron picked out some hats for him and his brother, "My brother steals everything I have so if he sees me with this hat, he'll want one too."
Celebrity Apprentice Contender Aubrey O'Day came in her Derby dress, saying Girl, I'm a Large because I got a weave" and suggested, "Ya'll should make a New Era Kentucky Derby Collection".
Real Housewives of Orange County's Vicki Gunvalson came by the suite with her son and husband who all left with their favorite New Era hats. Vicki traded her Derby hat for a Fedora and didn't want to switch back, "I love this New Era Fedora, do I have to put my Derby hat back on?"
The Bachelor's Bob Guiney was well aware that he needed a hat for the Derby and spent his afternoon in the New Era suite trying on nearly every hat. With hilarious commentary about each one, its no wonder he won America's heart. - "This one is too small, makes me look like a fat kid in a skinny suit" and "I like this hat but I wouldn't wear it daily. Its not my vacuuming the house while wearing my heels type of hat", until finally deciding on an EK SeaGrass tan Fedora which he described as "a dash of pimp".
The Office's Oscar Nunez was hesitant about wearing a hat but got some helpful coercing from his wife stating, "Come on, guys have to wear hats to the Derby too!" Mrs. Nunez could not be more correct. While the focus in previous years may have been on the women's hats, New Era's EK Collection is here to prove that hats for the Derby are a fashion statement for the men too.
