Go to any authentic rock reference book, and you’ll see New Jersey listed every time as a true musical mecca; you can start with The Boss; Southside Johnny; Frank Sinatra (from Hoboken); Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons; Bon Jovi; Whitney Houston; Kool and the Gang; Lauryn Hill; The Sugarhill Gang (who helped launch rap); and, Count Basie, among others. One more to certainly add is that group is singer/songwriter Larry Stevens … just on the brink of super stardom. Larry was present at this week’s Songwriter’s Hall Of fame, where he reports, “Was terrifically unreal. Bon Jovi on one side, and, Sir Tom Jones on the other.” Stevens has just released his new CD Downstairs at Mayo’s … which continues the winning streak from his debut CD last year, Heart Of A Fighter. Stevens and his band, who will showcase later this summer in NYC, have opened for the likes of Peter Frampton, the Doobie Brothers, Shania Twain, Steve Forbert, and Tim McGraw. His music is original, raw, and rock-driven … surely a welcomed change of pace for music this year.“My songs are about my musical journey … each song is like a mini-movie, where my audience is able to visualize as moment or feeling in my life. I blend my real life situations and experiences with upbeat melodies and tight grooves. I want my audience to connect with me fully as a man and performer.” On the new VD, “DeJa Voo Doo Glow” and “One For Love” immediately stood out. He’ll be appearing this Friday, June 26, at 888 7th Avenue. Check him out, you will not be disappointed !

I've seen Larry perform at several venues, and each time I leave wanting more! With outstanding talent like his, it's only a matter of time before Larry Stevens becomes a household name. If you want to get in on a great musical experience you need to catch one of his performances.
