Janet Jackson

Pop star Janet Jackson has been released from a Montreal, Canada hospital after she was admitted to the emergency room with a mystery illness yesterday. The singer was rushed to the Royal Victoria Hospital on Monday night, just before she was due to take to the stage for her latest stop on her Rock Witchu tour. Janet "got suddenly ill" during a sound check and was taken to seek emergency medical attention. She was discharged after a brief consultation.Rebecca Burns, spokeswoman for the McGill University Health Centre, which operates the hospital, says, "Yesterday evening she was checked into the Royal Victoria Hospital and left a couple of hours later." The show in Montreal had to be postponed, with her representative blaming the cancellation on "production constraints". Further details of the star’s health problems have yet to be released, although sources close to the 42 year old’s boyfriend, music producer Jermaine Dupri, claim she has been suffering from exhaustion. The insider tells People.com, "A 42-year-old body can’t handle what a 22-year-old body can. I can tell you that she’s definitely tired. It was probably exhaustion. She is doing back-to-back, three-hour shows, and her body isn’t the same as it used to be." Jackson’s Rock Witchu tour is her first in seven years.
