Drug Plagued Pete Doherty has started work on his first solo album, but insists the LP won’t affect his career with his group Babyshambles despite rumors. The singer, 28, is thrilled with the new songs he has recorded but has reassured fans the album won’t spell the end for his band. He says, "It doesn’t conflict with Babyshambles at all. It’s just a continuation of what I do. "I’ve always done solo recording but instead of just knocking it out on the Internet like I used to, I’m getting a little album together." Doherty - whose drug habit forced him to leave his previous band The Libertines in 2004, and ruined his relationship with supermodel Cocaine Kate Moss, has yet to decide on a title for the forthcoming record which is due for completion later this year.
