Sag Harbor artist and resident, Ted Asnis, is currently debuting a new series of paintings at Bobby Van's Steakhouse in Bridgehampton. The exhibition, Ted Asnis Abstracts, opened this month and will run through Labor Day weekend (though there is no formal opening reception). The show represents a new direction in the artist’s style.

Long revered for his traditional open landscapes depicting beloved Hampton’s beach scenes and farmlands, Asnis's latest series of paintings reflect his current interest in Abstract Painting, through which he has also developed a new technique of applying rich layers of paint. The result is a captivating and refreshing series of canvases in a palette of vibrant colors that are larger in scale, commanding a greater presence and often incorporating Asnis's signature use of space, movement and perspective.
