E! NEWS CATCHES UP WITH 'PITCH PERFECT 2' STARS

Anna Camp

You'd think working with your significant other would be a recipe for disaster, but that isn't the case for Pitch Perfect 2 stars Anna Camp and Skylar Astin.

E! News caught up with the bubbly blonde and asked her about starring alongside her beau in the highly anticipated sequel.

"The funny thing is, is that we never ever have any scenes together," she explained. "So, yeah, it was great. We had a great time when we saw each other on set. It was awesome."

Camp continued to gush about her leading man, saying, "We're really best friends, so it's awesome."

And when asked whether she and Astin are anything like their on-screen personas, what with singing and the like, she admitted that there are indeed some similarities.

"He's definitely sweet like his character is," the star admitted.

"I sing. My first job was a musical so I've been singing off and on for a while. More in the shower than not," Camp joked. "So I was happy to get cast in a musical role which is really, really fun. And he's a fantastic singer and was a singer on Broadway."

Sounds like a perfect fit if you ask us! Both Camp and Astin will be stepping out on the red carpet tonight for the premiere of their flick, alongside the rest of the cast no doubt. We can't wait!

(E! and Universal Pictures are both part of the same NBCUniversal family.)
