Following a great deal of media buzz and international acclaim, The Artist delighted audiences and brought this year’s Hamptons International Film Festival to an exciting close where the film took home the Audience Award for Best Narrative Film. After the screening, a group of influential industry guests gathered for an after-party at chic Southampton restaurant 75 Main for a very special celebration.

Guests included The Artist actors Penelope Ann Miller and James Cromwell, Real Housewife Kelly Bensimon, celebrity chef Bobby Flay (along with his wife, Law and Order actress Stephanie March), 75 Main’s Zach Erdem, and many others. The event was hosted by New York socialite Ann Barish. The crowd rejoiced in the film’s success at the festival over cocktails and Italian treats like marinated mozzarella, grilled asparagus, assorted salumi and antipasti, and decadent desserts.

The Artist, the highly-anticipated film by Michel Hazanavicius, was the final closing night picture at this year’s Hamptons International Film Festival. Distributed by The Weinstein Company, the silent black-and-white French film is set in late 1920’s Hollywood and tells the story of a prominent movie star who wonders if the recent introduction of “talkies” will ultimately signal the demise of the silent film and, therefore, his career. The Artist also received wide acclaim at its Cannes Film Festival debut in May 2011.
