NFL Player Brian Urlacher And Bob Mancari

Memorial Day Weekend in Vegas kicked off on Friday with the long awaited opening of the Encore Beach Club and Surrender Nightclub. The 60,000-square-foot Encore Beach Club features a lush oasis with three tiered pools, daybeds featuring private safes and 26 cabanas outfitted with refrigerators and flat screen televisions. Eight bungalows span across two stories, offering views of the Las Vegas Strip with hot tubs, showers, lavish furnishings and a temperature-controlled cooling and heating system. Enjoying the afternoon in one of the 350- square foot bungalows was Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher, while linebackers Terrell Suggs of the Baltimore Ravens and Nick Barnett from the Green Bay Packers commanded a cabana. Local headliner Carrot Top walked the venue and posed for photos with fans before enjoying a snack at the Encore Beach Club Grill. The party continued Friday evening with the opening of Surrender Nightclub. Club goers crowded the DJ booth to hear the electro house tunes of DJ Steve Aoki, who took over the outdoor turntables at 1am for his weekly residency at "Aoki's House." The "In Da House" artist hopped on top of the DJ booth mid-set and doused the energetic audience with champagne. Returning to the newest Las Vegas hotspot was Urlacher, who took over one of Surrender's indoor VIP booths.

Dennis Hopper

Party loving legend Dennis Hopper, a talented actor and director whose very long career included the 1969 smash "Easy Rider," has died. The star was 74. Family friend Alex Hitz says Hopper died today at his Venice home, surrounded by his family and friends. Hopper had been battling prostate cancer. Hopper's career also included "Rebel Without a Cause," "Blue Velvet," "Apocalypse Now" and "Hoosiers"."But the improbable success of the 1969 hippie-biker epic "Easy Rider" remained his biggest huge triumph. He not only co-starred but directed and co-wrote the film, which also starred Peter Fonda and Jack Nicholson. Hopper, Fonda and Terry Southern were nominated for Oscars for best screenplay.

Best-selling author Rita Cosby signed books and shared harrowing and inspiring stories of her father's past at the historic Kosciuszko Foundation headquarters in Manhattan this week. Cosby's book was just released and called Quiet Hero: Secrets From My Father's Past. The elegant affair brought out models, TV talkers, and Polish-Americans from the tri-state area. Cosby's father was a teenager when he joined the Polish Resistance and fought against the Nazis in his homeland. Some of the proceeds from the fascinating book are going toward two museums in Warsaw, including one where the Jewish Ghetto once stood.

Gary Coleman

Former Different Strokes actor Gary Coleman has died at the age of 42 after suffering a serious brain hemorrhage. The former child star, who suffered from a congenital kidney disease, was admitted to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center on Wednesday following a fall at his home. He was conscious after the accident but his condition got worse. On Thursday his manager, John Alcantar, said he was "unconscious and on life support". Coleman’s wife Shannon decided to take him off life support early on Friday and he died at around 12.05pm from an intracr anial hemorrhage. A statement released by his rep reads: "Thanks to everyone for their well wishing and support during this tragic time. Now that Gary has passed, we know he will be missed because of all the love and support shown in the past couple of days. "Gary is now at peace and his memory will be kept in the hearts of those who were entertained by him throughout the years." Coleman, the adopted son of nurse Edmonia Sue and her partner W.G. Coleman, began his television career in the early 1970s with small roles in The Jeffersons and the hit show Good Times before getting the role as Arnold Jackson in Different Strokes in 1978. He starred in the hit series for eight years with Todd Bridges, who played Willis Jackson, as two African-American boys adopted by wealthy white widower Phillip Drummond (Conrad Bain). Coleman became the show’s most popular star, known for his character’s catchphrase, "What’choo talkin’ ’bout Willis?" and eventually earned $100,000 per episode. He went on to score his own animated series, The Gary Coleman Show, and voiced his character for a year before it was axed in 1983.
He later won guest roles in a variety of small screen projects, including a cameo as Jackson in a 1996 episode of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and appearances in television shows My Wife and Kids and Married… with Children, and a voice over part in The Simpsons. Coleman also starred in a number of made-for-TV movies including The Kid with the Broken Halo (1982), Playing with Fire (1985), Fox Hunt (1996) and 2003’s A Christmas Carol. His last film role was in 2009’s Midgets vs. Mascots. Despite his many TV and film appearances, Coleman struggled financially and he successfully sued his parents and former manager in 1989 for misappropriating his $3.8 million trust fund. In 1993, h e was awarded $1.28 million. However, he filed for bankruptcy in 1999, citing the early mismanagement of his trust for his money problems. Coleman was also no stranger to the police, and was arrested on a few occasions for assault and disorderly conduct.
His most recent arrest happened last January when he was suspected of domestic violence following an alleged altercation with his wife Shannon Price, who he wed in 2007. He was slapped with a fine in February and ordered to attend domestic violence classes in exchange for avoiding jail. The actor also had many health problems, after undergoing two kidney transplants in 1973 and 1984, which required frequent dialysis. He had heart surgery last year, and spent the past few months in and out of hospital suffering from seizures, which saw him collapse during a round of telephone interviews in January. Coleman was hospitalised again in February, after another apparent seizure while on the set of hit television news show The Insider. He is survived by his wife Price, who he reunited with in April. The couple had no kids.

Editors Note: Gary Coleman had a very sad life. His many public health problems for so many years were huge tabloid headlines. I think I felt the worse when a story emerged a few years ago that Coleman was working as a security guard in a parking garage. It seems, the paparazzi were in the garage trying to get shots of Michael Jackson. When the security guard came up to them and told them they had to leave, it was Gary Coleman. It became a worldwide story, former child star working as security guard. It brought back memories of when I had money problems. Many years ago when I started in this business, I was not so money savvy. I needed to pay the rent, so I got a weekend job at a restaurant in Long Island to help catch up on the bills. It was a Friday night and I was waiting on this table. The night before I had been on the hit television show A Current Affair, doing a interview on Cher's daughter and her girlfriend. The table of four sat down and they started to talk about the show and how horrible that photographer was to talk about Cher and her daughter. They spent most of the meal trashing me, but they did not know their waiter was that photographer. When they were almost done with their main course, I looked at them and said, " Maybe the photographer had his reasons". They looked up at me like I was nothing and said, " What would you know, you are just a waiter". I stared back at them and said, yes I am, but I am also that photographer. They were in shock. One woman was yelling to her friends that it was the photographer. Needless to say, I was humiliated and so were they. They left me a fifty dollar tip. So I know what it is like to be on top and to be on the bottom. Many child stars have everything one day and nothing the next. When I saw that story of Gary Coleman working as a security guard, I felt for him. I knew how hard it was for him, but he was just trying to make a honest living and pay his bills. Everyone loves you when you are doing great, no one wants to know you when you are doing bad. Very sad world....

Dr. Kaveh Alizadeh

Actress Lindsay Caroline Robba (center) With Bra Models

Former Fashion Institute of Technology professor Lori Thomas and Bra extraordinaries and author of The Bra Book, Jené Luciani joined dozens of models attired in periodic brassieres celebrating the 100th anniversary of the invention of the modern bra and the launch of a new advancement in medical technology developed by Park Avenue plastic surgeon Dr. Kaveh Alizadeh. Alizadeh, who introduced the Big Apple’s first human bra, which uses a woman’s own skin to form a natural internal bra inside her chest. Women who have undergone the new internal bra procedure, called Naturabra, also will be present at O'Caseys Restaurant on 41st street.

Dr. Alizadeh’s NaturaBra™ Breast Lift technique uses the excess skin traditionally discarded in mastopexy surgery to provide more support to the underside of the breasts. This excess tissue is placed beneath the breasts and attached to the chest wall, giving the breasts more structural support, which can allow them to stay in a higher position for a longer period of time.

BACKGROUND- In 1910, Mary Phelps-Jacob of New York City bought an evening gown to wear to an upcoming party and was frustrated with the corset because it was visible underneath the sheer dress. With the help of her maid, the 19-year-old socialite sewed together two pieces of fabric and some ribbon to make a less visible bra. It was the first modern day bra and the first with a patent (received in 1914). Before this, women were expected to wear uncomfortable corsets to support their busts – a social convention that was contrived 350 years earlier by Catherine de’ Medici, wife of King Henry II of France. Phelps-Jacob, who patented her bra design under name of Caresse Crosby, eventually sold her patent to Warner's, which continues making bras today. Bras are about a $15 billion industry today in the United States.

About Dr. Kaveh - Recently named to Castle Connolly’s “Top Doctors: New York Metro Area,” Dr. Alizadeh is president of Long Island Plastic Surgical Group, the nation’s largest and longest running private academic plastic surgery practice with offices in Manhattan, Long Island, Brooklyn and Queens. He also directs a clinical research division that has trained over 100 of the newest and brightest plastic surgeons in the country.

About Jené Luciani - Jené Luciani is the author of “The Bra Book: The Fashion Formula to Finding the Perfect Fit” (Ben Bella Books, 2009). The fashion, beauty and lifestyle editor, expert, host and broadcast personality can be seen regularly doling out tips and advice on local news outlets all around the country.

The Woodward Report Weekly Round Up

By Brian Woodward And Other News Sources

Rush Limbaugh

Over a week ago Rand Paul obliterated establishment candidate Trey Grayson in the Kentucky Republican primary race. Following this victory he was thrust further into the national spotlight with a near 20 minute exchange over civil rights on the Rachael Maddow Show. Rand Paul’s style of politics may mark the rise of a new shift in political views as anti-establishment sentiment continues to resonate throughout the country.

Domestic Politics

House minority Leader John Boehner was adamant amount the dedication of Republicans to repeal the Health Care Laws if they are able to win the house back. Boehner's remarks were made at a conference announcing the launch of the House Republicans' new Web site, – a forum where citizens can submit ideas for congressional Republicans to consider making part of their agenda.

Ground Zero

After hours of contentious public comment, a New York City community board voted late Tuesday to support a plan to build a mosque and cultural center near ground zero. This is something that is sure to spark controversy over the weeks and months to come and will be certainly met by passionate advocates on each side of the issue.

Don't Ask

The House passed a measure on a defense bill that would end the “don’t ask don’t tell” ban on gays and lesbians serving openly in the military — some supporters are comparing the legislation to the integration of the armed forces in the 1940s.

Oil Spill

The gulf oil spill continues to dominate topics of discussion and is increasingly becoming a big political problem for President Obama. In a piece by Karl Rove it is asserted that this crisis is turning into Obama’s Katrina.

Rush Limbaugh

In an e-mail sent to Zev Chafets, author of the new book "Rush Limbaugh: An Army of One, " Limbaugh admitted, "I know I am a target and I know I will be destroyed eventually. I fear that all I have accomplished and all the wealth I have accumulated will be taken from me, to the cheers of the crowd. I know I am hated and despised by the American Left."

Foreign Affairs

On Sunday South Korea's President Lee Myung-bak released this statement in relation to their warship being attacked by a North Korean torpedo, “If our territorial waters, airspace or territory are militarily violated, we will immediately exercise our right of self-defense.” North and South Korea accelerated their diplomatic confrontation on Tuesday over the recent sinking of a South Korean warship, with the South saying it would redesignate the North its “archenemy” and North Korea severing almost all of its remaining ties to its far wealthier neighbor. United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, a former South Korean foreign minister, is setting aside the traditional impartiality of his post to push for sanctioning North Korea over a suspected naval attack. Ban has endorsed the conclusion of an international probe that North Korea was behind the March 26 sinking of a South Korean warship, before neighboring China and Russia have judged the findings.

New Palestinian Army

The U.S. is in the process of training a new Palestinian army. 3 star Lt. General Keith Dayton has quietly been working in Palestine since the take over of the Gaza strip by Hamas extremists in 2007 to build a Palestinian army. American Special Forces soldiers are helping to whip them into shape in training centers in Jordan and the West Bank, to stop Hamas from taking more territory and to protect the Palestinian authority of Mahmoud Abbas. Many Palestinian soldiers couldn't praise enough what they called the high degree of professional training provided by the American SF team.

On Thursday U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner called on Germany and Europe to support global economic growth by cutting budget deficits judiciously, and to avoid uncoordinated steps on financial regulation that undermine fragile confidence in financial markets.

Longtime Hamptons Mainstay The Driver’s Seat Unveils New Look, Friday May 28th. 50th Anniversary Celebration Features Happy Hour All Weekend long.

The Driver’s Seat

Landmark Hampton's restaurant The Driver’s Seat will celebrate its 50th Anniversary this weekend with Special Happy Hours Friday through Monday from 5pm-6pm. The weekend will also include the opening of their Outdoor Back Bar on The Patio for the summer season. What began as a produce store built in 1888 on America’s oldest commercial street Job’s Lane in tony Southampton and first used as a restaurant in 1960 has become one of the Hampton's most enduring dining spots - The Driver’s Seat. This Friday, May 28, the current owners Irma and Ken Herzog will unveil the popular dining spot’s latest transformation and kick off the 50th Anniversary celebration. Back in the ‘60s, the owner then was Kingsley Moore, who had a passion for auto racing. He knew many of the drivers at the Bridgehampton Race Track, which was a major stop on the racing circuit back then. Kingsley Moore decided his pub would be called “The Driver's Seat” and it became a hangout for the local racing set when they were in town. The Driver's Seat under more recent ownership from 1976 to 2005 underwent extensive renovations and additions to the front bar, back dining room and outside patio/bar. In early 2005 the restaurant was purchased by a local family Ken and Irma Herzog long time customers who loved the restaurant and wanted to restore the restaurant to its original grandeur. From the outset, they wanted to retain the staff who had always made them and their family so welcomed – some employees like local legend, bartender and supreme mixologist Tommy Alexander have been at the restaurant for over 20 years. Since then the facilities and menu have been updated. Their experienced full-time and visiting chefs now offer patrons a broader dining experience. Today, the Driver’s Seat continues providing guests with the best dining quality and value in the Hampton's. Following an exterior facelift last year, The Herzogs set about transforming the interior into less of a dark pub like atmosphere into a more contemporary, light and airy quintessential Hampton's eatery without attitude. Now when diners arrive their eyes are drawn immediately to the gorgeous stained glass ocean scene at the very back of the dining room overlooking their lovely outdoor patio. The Driver’s Seat continues to draw heavily on the local population from the Gin Lane summer social set to the farming families and builders who are the backbone of the community. Indeed, The Driver’s Seat has become a destination spot not only in the tri-state region but internationally attracting diners from 9 to 90. The Herzog Family continues the long time tradition of providing a warm and inviting atmosphere and has a strong hands-on involvement in the day to day operations. The management of the restaurant is a true family affair - even their college age children participate in everything from front of house management to behind the scenes administration. Click Here for more information.

Editors Note: This is our favorite Hampton's watering hole. We love the staff and we love the people we meet there while we are sitting on their famed patio. If you are in the Southampton area, you must stop by and tell them Times Square Gossip sent you.
