AMY WINEHOUSE CLEANS UP THE GRAMMY'S

Amy Winehouse In London

Troubled singer Amy Winehouse stole the show at last nights Grammy Awards, winning five of the top awards. Kanye West was nominated for eight awards and went home with four, including Rap Album, Rap Performance and Rap Song; Bruce Springsteen picked up three, including Best Rock Song. The White Stripes, Justin Timberlake and Mary J. Blige all won two. But the night was dominated Rehad singer Winehouse, who picked up all but one of the awards she was nominated for - Record of the Year prize for Rehab; Album of the Year for Back to Black; Best New Artist; Best Pop Vocal Album for Back to Black; Song of the Year for Rehab; and Best Female Vocal Performance for Rehab. The wild singer was expected to make the biggest headline of the night, and she did. Last week she made arrangements to leave drug rehab in London to attend the Grammys, but was banned from traveling to Los Angeles California because of a drugs conviction in Norway last October. The U.S. embassy in London handed her a last minute reprieve on Friday, but she opted to stay in the U.K. and perform via a satellite link-up because she needed time to rehearse. At a studio in London, surrounded by family and friends she sang her hits You Know I’m No Good and Rehab, paying tribute to her jailed husband Blake Fielder-Civil in both. When she was presented with the Record of the Year, she dedicated it to "My Dad, my Mom, my Blake. My incarcerated Blake. And this is for London." Winehouse also made history on Sunday, joining the small group of female artists to have won five awards in one night, alongside Lauryn Hill in 1999, Alicia Keys in 2002, Norah Jones in 2003, Beyonce in 2004 and The Dixie Chicks in 2007. No one has ever won more, and Winehouse is the first British female artist to achieve the amazing feat. Legends of music also performed, including Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin, Jerry Lee Lewis and Little Richard. It was opened by Alicia Keys duetting with the late Frank Sinatra and closed by Will.I.am.

Her performance was awesome!
I loved it!
She looked so much better.
I know she has a ways to go but she has parents who care about her & want her straight so maybe she can make it.
I certainly hope so.
I was almost moved to tears watching her reaction when they announced her name as winner.
She looked so fragile & looked about to pass out.
Then her Dad came rushing up to her.
I wish her well.
