Barack Obama Barack Obama got a foot up on his presidential rivals Hillary Clinton and John McCain by winning a Grammy Award last night. The Democratic Illinois senator won the award for his narration of audio book The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream. He managed to beat former presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter, who were also nominated.It’s not Obama’s first Grammy. He also won the same award in 2006 for his 1995 memoir Dreams from my Father.

Amy Winehouse In London Troubled singer Amy Winehouse stole the show at last nights Grammy Awards, winning five of the top awards. Kanye West was nominated for eight awards and went home with four, including Rap Album, Rap Performance and Rap Song; Bruce Springsteen picked up three, including Best Rock Song. Banned in the United States, Amy Winehouse is sorry for missing the Grammy Awards, but is saying she’ll perform at Sunday’s ceremony via satellite. U.S. embassy staff in London refused to grant the troubled Winehouse a visa to attend the Los Angeles California event, because she was arrested and fined for drug possession in Norway last October.The singer, who is nominated for six awards, will still entertain guests but on a giant screen instead of in person. In a statement she says: "I’m raring to go and really excited to be performing at my first Grammy Awards. I’d like to thank everyone for their support over the last couple of weeks. I’m really sorry I can’t be there but I appreciate that I’m being given a second chance via satellite." Rehab singer Winehouse left the London rehab clinic where she is being treated for her many drug problems on Friday to begin preparing for her performance.
