PETE DOHERTY HEADS BACK TO DRUG REHAB

Babyshambles
Pete Doherty has reportedly been made to check into rehab by his aunt. The troubled Babyshambles rocker was persuaded to seek professional help for his drug addiction after a late-night visit from his aunt Joan Cassidy on Wednesday. Doherty has now agreed to enter Clouds Rehab Centre in Salisbury for a 12-day stay at a cost of £4,000 (U.S. $8 thousand), and has called West London Magistrates' Court for permission to switch his bail address to the centre, whose past patients include Robbie Williams and Boy George. Doherty had agreed to live with cousin Carole Parsons at her home in the village of Tintunhull, Somerset, as part of his bail conditions until September 4, when he is due to be sentenced on drugs charges. But when he was accused of attacking a 22-year-old female photographer outside Parsons' home on Wednesday his aunt decided he would be better off in rehab. Joan's son-in-law Barry Parsons said: "Pete's decided it's best to go into rehab. He really wants to make a go of changing his ways. So far despite our help, he has struggled to do it and that's why he's seeking help elsewhere." Doherty was rumoured to be playing a secret acoustic show at this weekend's Get Loaded in the Park music festival in London. He was due to appear on the bill which also features Dirty Pretty Things, the band fronted by Doherty's former Libertines bandmate Carl Barat.Organisers are now worried Doherty will be a no-show leaving them with a gap in their line-up they will be unlikely to fill. However, they are not giving up hope the 28-year-old musician has entered rehab as a publicity stunt to increase the element of surprise when he appears on the stage at the festival on Sunday.
