DAVID BOWIE AND STING GO TOPLESS

Rocker Sting will partner with David Bowie

Sting and David Bowie are opening a burlesque club together. The rock stars have bought former New York Mafia haunt Little Charlie's Clam Bar in Little Italy and plan to launch an exotic striptease nightspot there this autumn. Businessman Ivan Kane is also involved in the project and hopes to replicate the success of his chain of 20s-style burlesque clubs. The new club, which will reportedly cost $4 million to build, will be linked to Kane's Forty Deuce venues in Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Kane said: "It's a done deal, they are the two main partners."Los Angeles' Forty Deuce has previously attracted a host of celebrities including George Clooney, Leonardo DiCaprio, Sir Mick Jagger and Hugh Grant. The clubs feature live jazz bands and exotic dancers who strip on stage. The performers protect their modesty using feather boas, fans and jewel-encrusted underwear. Spokespeople for Sting, 55, and Bowie, 60, have confirmed their involvement in the burlesque club. The singers are not expected to manage the nightspot, but will act solely as investors.

Disgusting. It's so sad to see Little Charlie's go. Shame on Sting and Bowie for contributing to the deterioration of Little Italy's history.

Thats all of New York Cities history. They are tearing down almost everything so the greedy landlords can get more and more money. Their idea of landmark status in New York City is tearing down the whole building but leaving the front. Then they build glass eyesores. The greedy landlords have forced all the little people to move out, like the corner deli, the small hardware store etc. I'm waiting for them to force my $12. haircut place to close and replace it with a $100. cut with no wash !
