The season premiere of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" started out with a bang... er... well, a rich person having a hard time doing a simple everyday task. To open the show, Oprah and her BFF Gayle King embarked on a cross-country road trip surprising unsuspecting Americans by dropping in unannounced at weddings and other events. The toughest part of the trip for Oprah however wasn't the road itself, but at the gas station. The Queen of TV had to be helped out as she fumbled with the pump, saying "I haven't pumped gas since 1983."Lucky for her, someone came to her rescue and demonstrated the proper technique for fueling your car. We aren't the only ones laughing as Oprah realized how silly the task was and said "I feel kind of stupid not being able to pump gas, but I thought, well maybe they've changed the pumps since I've last pumped."

Willie Nelson Willie Nelson and several fellow musicians were charged with misdemeanor drug possession in Louisiana early yesterday after a police search of their tour bus turned up marijuana and psychedelic mushrooms. State Police spokesman Willie Williams said that when the bus was stopped about seven miles east of Lafayette, La., for a routine inspection, a trooper smelled marijuana inside it. Seized were 11/2 pounds of pot and two-tenths of a pound of mushrooms, he said. Nelson, 73, and four other passengers were cited for possession and released on their own recognizance. But the driver's Commercial license was suspended.Cops said Nelson faces up to six months in prison if convicted. A spokesman for the singer said she had no information about the arrest. "There was no trouble whatsoever," Williams said. "They were all cooperative." Nelson is known to be a longtime advocate for the legalization of marijuana.

Celeste Holm Leroy Neiman received the Arts Horizons 2006 Paul Newman award for services to the arts and children last night at Hammer Galleries on West 57th street. Many celebrities were there including Tony Roberts, Pia Lindstrom, Kitty Carlyle Hart and the ever so beautiful Celeste Holm. LeRoy known for his brilliantly colored images of sports and leisure is one of the most popular artists in 20th century America. It was such a pleasure to see old friends and celebrities from the old school who have such class. Beth And Duane Chapman A&E is airing a special episode of "Dog The Bounty Hunter" tomorrow night with the latest on the recent arrest of the famed fugitive-chaser. Mel Gibson's daughter, Hannah, married blues and rock guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd on Saturday in California, the Shreveport Times reports. Shepherd, 29, who is from Benton, La., proposed to Gibson, 26, on New Year's Eve 2004 in Rome, according to the newspaper. "She is beautiful," Shreveport-based singer Maggie Warwick, who met Gibson at a concert in the town, told the Times. "She is just a young lady with a sweet personality. She is very sincere. Very mannerly. I think it is a perfect match. It is a special relationship." Hannah is the oldest of Mel Gibson and wife Robyn's seven kids, and their only daughter. On his official Web site, Shepherd says he had his first platinum album while he was still in high school (1995's Ledbetter Heights), which he followed with 1997's Grammy-nominated Trouble. His 1999 album Live On also earned a Grammy nod.

Patricia Kennedy Lawford (left in pic) , the sister of President John F. Kennedy and wife of actor Peter Lawford, died at her New York home of complications of pneumonia on Sunday, according to a spokeswoman for Sen. Edward M. Kennedy. She was 82.I really liked Pat. It really saddens me that such a fun, and sometimes wild lady has passed away. She was always the life of the party, and boy could she party. She had class. She was always nice and pleasant. She always had a joke. She treated everyone like they were a friend. I met her many times at events around NYC and sometimes in her home in the Hampton's where she loved to throw open her doors for charity events. When she arrived at a event you knew there was going to be a party. You knew Pat would make sure you had fun. She will be missed dearly around New York which was her home. We have lost another part of history.

The legend-the club "Stonewall" where the gay rights movement began, where the famous Stonewall riots took place in 1969, has been padlocked by the Landlord according to a bartender that showed up for work and the place was sealed up.When we visited Stonewall today, we were shocked that this landmark has been padlocked and shut by the buildings landlord for, according to the bartender, non-payment of rent to the tune of $175.000. The bartender went on to say the the owner told him the place was being renovated, but said he was flat out lieing. Meanwhile a sigh over the club says, " Restaurant for Rent", meaning the landlord is looking for a new tenant.The bartender also said that this is happening all over in the gay community with straight people buying up very successful gay clubs and running them into the ground. One only has to look in the West Village once a mecca for the gay life where businesses once gay owned and operated have been brought by straight people...

A warrant is expected to be issued for the arrest of former "American Idol" contestant Corey Clark after he failed to appear in court on a summons stemming from a July 24 arrest for violating a court order and trespassing. The Yuma County Attorney filed two misdemeanor charges against Clark for the incident at the Yuma home of his wife's parents. He failed to appear for a hearing Tuesday and the judge sent the case back to prosecutors for an arrest warrant.They should have arrested him when he appeared on American Idol the first time. Christie Brinkley Christie Brinkley has filed for divorce from Peter Cook,two months after reports surfaced about his alleged affair with an 18-year-old employee, Cook's lawyer confirmed Thursday."We are told that a divorce action has been commenced in Suffolk County, and we have agreed to accept service of those papers," lawyer David Aronson told The Associated Press. The divorce papers were filed in Suffolk County Court in Riverhead. "I can neither confirm nor deny it," Brinkley's publicist, Elliot Mintz, reached in Los Angeles on Thursday morning, told the AP. The 52-year-old supermodel announced in July that she and Cook, 47, her fourth husband, had separated. They were married in 1996, and have an 8-year-old daughter, Sailor.
