Oprah Is Stunning Marcia Cross Sigourney Weaver Glenn Close And Oprah Winfrey Talk show queen Oprah Winfrey showed up at the The Hollywood Reporter's Annual Women in Entertainment Breakfast, Beverly Hills Hotel in California. Famed actress Sigourney Weaver is training to become a pilot, making her flying debut just weeks after a terrifying incident on board a jet. The Hollywood star was due to start taking courses when she was involved in an emergency on a flight. She recalls, "There was a big sound at the back of the plane. Something must have popped open I guess and all the oxygen masks dropped down. We had to dive about 10,000 feet so our brains wouldn’t pop but the stewardesses were such terrible actors. "They were running up and down saying things like, ‘How’s your water?’ when it was obvious they were panicking. I was curiously calm, but what can you do?" And Weaver is adamant that the experience failed to put her off flying for real - she took to the skies for her first lesson in the mountains over Montreal, Canada, just weeks after the incident. Hollywood star Sigourney Weaver was very heartbroken as she watched her loved mother die because the couple had just reconciled after an estranged relationship for years. The actress admits she had a "difficult relationship" with her mother, Elizabeth, who passed away last year of natural causes at the age of 94. But in the final five years of her mother’s life they had made peace, and Weaver even held her mother’s hand as she died.Weaver recalls, "I was with her when she died, she’d had a tough couple of years. She was 94 and, luckily, I had been able to spend quite a bit of time with her."She had a very peaceful end, I was holding her hand. She had really lived her life. Hollywood star Sigourney Weaver is hoping to become a New York theatre owner after agreeing to a deal with city and state officials to create a three stage drama space in Downtown New York City.The actress and her director husband Jim Simpson have been trying to launch 'The Flea theatre' project for years, but have come up against financial and leasing issues in the big apple. Weaver says, "We are in the process of buying a new space because we weren’t allowed to buy our old space by the landlord."The city and state have given us some money to purchase a site, where we’ll actually have three theatres."It’s really exciting and I would’ve loved a place like that when I first came to New York. We had to work in these strange places in Hell’s Kitchen, where we just ran like hell through Times Square to these really weird places where the audience was afraid to come anyway because there were no bathrooms and the walls were all moldy."
