Linda Lavin The Off Broadway Alliance, the organization of Off Broadway producers, theaters, general managers, press agents, and marketing professionals, has announced the nominees for the 5th Annual Off Broadway Alliance Awards, honoring commercial and not-for-profit productions that opened Off Broadway during the 2014-2015 season. Awards will be presented in seven competitive categories: Best New Play, Best New Musical, Best Play Revival, Best Musical Revival, Best Unique Theatrical Experience, Best Solo Performance, and Best Family Show. Winners in all categories will be selected by secret ballot by members of the awards committee of the Off Broadway Alliance. In addition to the competitive awards, three Off Broadway Alliance Legend of Off Broadway Awards are being presented for sustained achievement in the world of Off Broadway. Honorees were on hand to receive their awards and Philip Seymour Hoffman, Ruth Maleczech and Nicholas Martin were posthumously inducted into the Off Broadway Hall of Fame. Among those in attendance were Legend of Off Broadway honorees Edmund Gaynes, Terrence McNally and Wallace Shawn. Other honorees included: Best New Musical, Fun Home; Best New Play, Hand to God; Best Revival, Saint Joan; Best Unique Theatrical Experience, La Soirée; and Best Family Show, The Wong Kids in the Secret of the Space Chupacabra Go!
