Tom Cruise Tom Cruise is reportedly launching a $80 million takeover bid of friend David Beckham's new soccer club.The Hollywood actor is a huge soccer fan and wants to give his financial backing to the Los Angeles Galaxy. A source said: "To have Tom's backing would be amazing - there's no way Galaxy bosses would turn down that opportunity."Beckham signed for Galaxy this January on a reported $256 million five-year deal although he doesn't start playing for them until next month. David Beckham says he will never be an actor, despite moving to Los Angeles. News of David's multi-million pound transfer to the Los Angeles Galaxy soccer team last month sparked widespread anticipation he was planning to conquer Hollywood. But David insists he has no plans to become an actor. Promoting 'Goal 2' - in which he stars as himself - David said: "I just had to act naturally in this movie.
