PETER KING & DAVID PATERSON JOIN DELEGATION

On Monday, August 25, 2014, the New York Board of Rabbis (NYBR) in cooperation with the Jewish Federations of North America's Rabbinic Cabinet (JFNA) and UJA-Federation of NY will lead a 40 member delegation of rabbis along with Christian and Jewish lay leaders to Israel for a three day solidarity mission. The group will be accompanied by Congressman Peter King (R-NY), member of the Homeland Security Committee and Chairman of the Sub-Committee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence, and former New York Governor David Paterson (D) and Chair of the New York State Democratic Party.

The Mission is scheduled to visit with lone soldiers, bereaved families, communities in Israel's Southern region along with government officials and IDF installations. The group is comprised of rabbis of different denominations as well as leaders in the Jewish and Christian community. The group will be led by NYBR President Rabbi David-Seth Kirshner of Temple Emanu-El of Closter, NJ, NYBR Executive Vice President Joseph Potasnik and JFNA Rabbinic Cabinet Director Rabbi Gerald Weider.
