Toxic singer Britney Spears mom Lynne is downplaying the star’s much publicized mental breakdown - comparing her troubles to a teenager starting college. The pop star went into a meltdown after losing custody of her two sons Sean Preston, three, and Jayden James, two, last year, and was hospitalized for a mental evaluation in January. But mother Lynne is sure the star’s problems were inevitable, only because the singer was attempting to cut loose from her parents.She tells British morning show GMTV, "I think there comes a time in a young adult’s life where they wanna live their own life and mamma and daddy - they’re not cool anymore. "I think it was kind of that situation - much similar to a child that goes to college and they’re really into their college life and they don’t really come home a lot. If you can relate it to that." Lutfi sparked the battle when he phoned Los Angeles radio host Ryan Seacrest last thursday, to chat about his "sister", Britney, and the mental health problems that prompted a intervention on Thursday morning. Allowing Seacrest to repeat his comments during his breakfast show on Friday, a tearful Lutfi also took aim at the pop star’s family, insisting they were "incapable of telling the truth and incapable of sympathising". He told Seacrest that Lynne and her ex-husband Jamie were only interested in the pop star’s finances and their image in the media.
