Actor Rob Lowe joined Crest to launch the Crest Healthier Smiles Project. Kids with poor oral health are 3 times more likely to miss school and that’s not OK. The Crest Healthier Smiles Project launched a nationwide education program with the PTA and teamed up with Feeding America to donate toothpaste to those who need it most.



The event was held at Innovation Loft, 151 W. 30th Street, New York.

Rob Lowe talked about the Crest Healthier Smiles Project, his experience as a dad of two teenage boys, his mom’s experience as a high-school teacher and his upcoming projects.



A Crest representative was on hand to discuss the Crest Healthier Smiles Project and the importance of a good oral care routine and why a healthier smile is more important than you think.



Representatives from National PTA and Feeding America were also in attendance to provide information about their partnerships with Crest.

The Crest Healthier Smiles Project is a nationwide education program about the importance of a good oral care routine for kids and regular visits with dental professionals.


Kids with poor oral health are nearly 3 times more likely to miss school (Source: 2008 North Carolina Child Health Assessment).


More than 51 million school hours are lost each year due to dental related illness (Source: 2000 report from Surgeon General on Oral Health in America).


Kids with toothaches are nearly 4X more likely to have a lower GPA (Source: 2012 Los Angeles public school survey amongst disadvantaged kids compared to kids without toothaches in the past 6 mos.).
