Gilles Marini previewed Auctions America’s California sale tonight at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica. The auction, featuring 300 classic cars, kicks off tonight, Friday, July 17 and continues Saturday, July 18. For further information visit www.auctionsamerica.com
Gilles arrived at the Barker Hangar with his wife Carole excited to see the selection of cars.
Gilles first stop was to pay a visit to his first love, the 1989 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary Edition, one of the most widely recognized supercars ever produced. Gilles sat in the car raving about the craftsmanship. Next up Gilles stepped back in time and admired the 1967 Ferrari 330 GTS, the epitome of mid-sixties Italian supercar styling.
While admiring the 1960 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster, Gilles ran into friend and fellow car enthusiast Barry Weiss. The two took a minute to catch up sitting in the front seat of the roadster. Gilles ended the night admiring the 2004 Ferrari Enzo. The Ferrari Enzo is considered one of the most desirable contemporary Ferraris on the road today. Gilles took a moment to sit in the car so that he could experience all the Ferrari had to offer.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the auction floor, proud car collector Barry Weiss gave event guests a look into his Ford 1955 Ford Beatnik Bubbletop custom car.
