THE NEW YORK CITY BALLET ANNUAL SPRING GALA

Jean Shafiroff

The New York City Ballet held its Annual Spring Gala at the David Koch Theater at Lincoln Center. The occasion makes a significant artistic milestone for New York City Ballet as it presented the Company's premiere of Peter Martins' staging of August Bournonville's La Sylphide. Peter Martins had longed dreamed of adding this Danish Classic, one of the world's oldest surviving Romantic ballets to the Company's repertoire.
