BRADLEY POWELL WINNER OF DIY BLOG CABIN 2014

BLOG CABIN 2014

Bradley Powell, 30, of Winter Haven, Fla., was in complete disbelief when he received news of winning DIY Network’s BlogCabin 2014, a fully renovated 1920s bungalow stationed on five acres of land that is a short drive from his current home. The furnished approximately 2,500 sq. ft. home is the centerpiece of the grand prize package valued at almost $900,000, which also includes a 2015 MasterCraft NXT20 Wake/Surf Boat and $50,000 provided by national mortgage lender Quicken Loans. Brad, who says he entered the giveaway twice per day as soon as he heard the sweepstakes started, was randomly selected from more than 24 million entries.

“My wife and I were watching the local news and saw that this year’s Blog Cabin would be located in Winter Haven, Fla.,” said Brad. “We decided to start entering every morning after that—but never dreamed of winning the grand prize! It still hasn’t fully sunk in yet.”

Hosted by Chris Grundy, the 2014 Blog Cabin series features an all-star team, including Jason Cameron of Sledgehammer, Anitra Mecadon of Mega Dens, Matt Muenster of Bath Crashers, Alison Victoria of Kitchen Crashers, Chris Lambton of Yard Crashers, and Jake and Joel Moss of Yardcore as they implement designs chosen by online voters. The completed Blog Cabin 2014 features a custom sun room, private dock, gourmet kitchen, and exceptional views of Lake Hamilton. Online users can visit DIYnetwork.com/BlogCabin to see more about this year’s winner, check out exclusive videos of the lakeside bungalow and take a virtual tour of the completed residence.
