New York City is at a breaking point. Nearly half of all residents are living near the poverty line. Rising rents are only making our income inequality worse - and more luxury condos with no real affordable units are not the answer.

At least 50 percent of new housing should be affordable to residents across income levels and occupations. Anything less and it's game over: New York City will only exist for the wealthy elite.
