Guests networked and mingled before Founder & CEO of Over 40 Females™, Judy Goss, welcomed everyone to the evening. Judy spoke of how Over 40 Females™ came to fruition when she traveled as a spokesperson for More Magazine. As a spokesperson, she met hundreds of women and heard their stories yet there was not enough room to fit them all in the magazine, which is where her concept of Over 40 Females was born.

“I wanted to bring the pages of More Magazine to life, to give every woman a chance to be heard and connect with each other in person to advance their personal lives and careers with the motto "Connect, Encourage and Inspire."

Judy then introduced guest speaker Ojinika Obiekwe, producer and correspondent for WPIX11 morning news in New York who gave a “Be Inspired” talk. Obiekwe, who had always wanted to be a writer, spoke about being born and raised in Nigeria and how she successfully pursued her dreams to become a journalist. Obiekwe is a firm believer in using self-empowerment to realize personal goals, and believes that “you attract what you are.”

Raffle items given to lucky attendees included a day of beauty at Angelo David Salon, a 60 minute signature facial from La Prairie Spa at the Ritz-Carlton, two tickets to the Broadway show Ann, and a pair of Moda designer sunglasses.
