Even the host had no idea what was in store for today’s episode of “Katie!” Katie Couric allowed producers to create a show today that is a complete surprise - and until her guests walked out on the stage, she had no idea who was stopping by to see her! At the beginning of the show, Andy Cohen was revealed as her co-host for the day, stepping out of a giant box on the stage of Katie’s set. Today is Katie’s 56th birthday, and an episode full of surprises helped make it more fun, throughout the show.

Katie’s good friend and former colleague at the Today Show: Al Roker stops by, and shares a sweet story about Al and Matt Lauer visiting Katie in the hospital during a snowstorm on her birthday, after she had given birth to her daughter, Carrie – who just turned 17!
J.R. Martinez gives the birthday girl a twirl around her stage!
Katie’s producers serve up two of Katie’s favorite dishes: celebrity chef Guy Fieri and plenty of “bacon” recipes – Katie is a proud bacon lover, and even has a Pinterest board dedicated to her favorite breakfast meat!
