I'm not a big baseball fan but I had a ball at my dear friend "Sara" Herbert-Galloway's belated birthday bash yesterday at Yankee Stadium. Her fiance, Yankee Partner, Barry Klarberg threw one great party for her, with the help of his and her children, Justin and Alana.

Sara's friends, New York's social set came out in full force to celebrate with her. Sara along with many of her guests are movers and shakers in the charity world. Katlean de Monchy, Robin Cofer and Dominique D'Alleva, Cassandra Seidenfeld and Robert Lyster, Amy Treitel, Errol Rappaport, Liz Lewis and Alan Donenfeld, Jan and Michael Planit, Anne Bezemat and hubby Bill Cohen. Melissa and Todd Thompson were overheard talking about an upcoming Stamford Symphony event. Pilot Libby Locke landed just in time for the party. Lots of press came too, Jim Luce and John Lee from the Luce Foundation, News 12's Frank Recchia, Newsday's Lee Fryd, publicist Liz Derringer, The Barnyard Group's Donnetta Campbell, Tom Fitzgerald, Rose Billings and the list goes on and on. Yours truly was happy to be there. What a great day!

Thomas Cook, who has sang for 3 US Presidents and the Prince of Wales serenaded Sara, who we dubbed "Queen for a Day." Thomas will open for Tony Bennett on Oct 11th in NYC. I sat next to Norma Abbene and her husband Vincent during the luncheon at NYYankee Steak house, turns out Norma is Deputy Council to Mayor Bloomberg and we had a lot of people in common.

After lunch, we all took over a huge block of seats in the stadium. The NY Yankees kicked the Tamp Bay Rays butts. As I sat at the stadium drinking my super sized soda, I was tempted to ask Norma her opinion on Mayor Bloomberg's attempted ban on big soda's, then I thought I would just enjoy my big drink instead. Cheers to you Sara, Happy Birthday my friend! Barry, great party, my birthday is coming up ....
