City Parks Foundation's SummerStage, in conjunction with Globestar Media and NYC radio station WBLS is presenting their fourth annual R&B festival in Central Park this summer on Sunday August 12.

The evening's performers include R&B superstars Eric Benét, Christopher Williams, Kenny Lattimore, Q Parker and Horace Brown alongside the seminal hip hop duo Salt-N-Pepa.

Tickets are totally free but served on a first come, first served basis at the door; no advance tickets are available. Doors open at 3pm and the show starts at 4:00pm; SummerStage recommends that audience members plan to arrive at 2:30pm to better guarantee entry. The venue will close doors when it is full. To access the SummerStage venue, enter from 72nd Street and 5th Avenue and bear left until you see the line for entry.

ABOUT ERIC BENET



Multiple Grammy nominee Eric Benét, has based his career and his music on the purity of emotion. Making his solo debut with his album True To Myself, Benét's music produces a soulful sound, filled with lyrical and emotional honesty. His hit single "Spend My life with You" featuring Tamia reached #1 on the R&B charts, solidifying his role as an R&B sensation. In his most recent album Lost in Time, Benét takes a journey with his music, channeling influences from the 1970's to create a sound that is pure and true. Using his own experiences as inspiration, Benét's music tells a story that is both passionate and heartfelt.



ABOUT SALT-N-PEPA



Legends, icons, trailblazers, pioneers, innovators and trendsetters are just a few words often used to describe this group. From Grammys to MTV Video Awards, they have won them all. Whether it's the top of the charts or on stages at sold out coliseums across the country, they have done it all. They are Grammy Award winning group, Salt-N-Pepa, which consists of Cheryl James and Sandy Denton ("Salt" and "Pepa", respectively), and Deidre "Dee Dee" Roper (DJ Spinderella). As the first ever female rap crew, Salt-N-Pepa, broke barriers and opened doors wide open that were once closed to women in hip-hop. They gave women a voice in a male dominated industry and transformed the way the music world saw women forever. With the hit songs "Push It," "Tramp,""Shake Your Thang," "Shoop" and "Whatta Man," Salt-N-Pepa would defy everyone's expectations and catapult hip-hop to new levels. 




ABOUT CHRISTOPHER WILLIAMS



Multitalented musician and actor, Christopher Williams, emerged on the music scene in the late 80s and early 90s with his hit singles "Promises, Promises," "Talk to Myself" and "Every Little Thing U Do." His 1991 single "I'm Dreamin," which made an appearance in the motion picture film New Jack City, alongside Williams himself, hit #1 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles &Tracks, solidifying his influential role in the R&B community.



ABOUT KENNY LATTIMORE



With remarkably soulful vocals and a powerful stage presence, R&B singer Kenny Lattimore is an unforgettable musical icon. With wide recognition for his achievements, Lattimore has been awarded an NAACP Image Award for Best New Artist, along with Grammy, Soul Train and Stellar Award nominations. Known for his "dramatic stage shows, vocal agility, and romantic ambiance," Lattimore's highly anticipated upcoming album, Back 2 Cool is sure to bring more of the same talent and energy to the music scene. With The New York Times hailing him a "modern soul man" on stage, Lattimore's music and performance is always an impressive showcase of art and passion.



ABOUT Q PARKER



Prominent musician Q Parker is best known for his role as a founding member of the popular multiplatinum R&B quartet, 112. The group reached its peak success in the late 1990's and early 2000's, with the GRAMMY® nominated single "Peaches and Cream," followed by as phenomenally successful "I'll Be Missing You" with Puff Daddy and Faith Evans, which won them a GRAMMY® for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group. Launching a solo career in 2010, this six-time ASCAP award winner and respected song-writer has made a comeback with the release of his new single, "Show You How" on his debut solo album The MANual.



ABOUT HORACE BROWN



R&B sensation Horace Brown made his first break in 1991 after Jodeci's DeVante Swing discovered one of his impressive demos. He reached popular success in 1996 after the release of his debut self titled album, which featured a number of well known artists including Sean "Puffy" Combs and Faith Evans, and included the hit single "One for the Money." As the son of a Baptist minister, Brown began singing as a child in his father's church in his hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina, also playing a number of instruments in his school's marching band. Today, this R&B veteran continues to write and perform, displaying his remarkable musical skills to all.

All SummerStage shows go on RAIN OR SHINE 

Shows will be canceled only in the event of dangerous lightning during a performance. 

No professional camera gear, telephoto lenses or flash photography is allowed unless expressly arranged in advance through representatives of City Parks Foundation or GreenHouse Publicity.
No video taping of any shows will be allowed. 

Food and alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages are available for purchase at all shows. Beer and wine are for on-site consumption only and may not be removed from the venue. 

Please do not bring alcoholic beverages, glass, bottles, coolers, pets, bicycles, roller blades, folding chairs, beach umbrellas, video cameras or tape recorders to SummerStage shows. Patrons will not be allowed into venues with these materials. 

All bags are subject to search. 

The distribution or sale of unauthorized promotional materials is not permitted in the park or in SummerStage staging areas.
