Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation hosted its annual Angel Ball, one of the top events in the New York charity circuit, at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City. The Foundation was established by Denise Rich in 1996 after losing her daughter, Gabrielle, to leukemia and is one of the largest non-governmental sources of support for blood cancer research. One of the evening’s honorees, model Naomi Campbell (who was joined by Russian businessman, Vladislav Doronin), was commended for her contributions to cancer research, as presented by soul singer Patti LaBelle. Also in attendance at the event were Kim Kardashian, singer Solange Knowles and mother Tina Knowles, television personality La La Anthony, rapper Eve, socialite Ivana Trump, British singer Estelle, musical legend Natalie Cole, Princess Madeleine of Sweden, former New York Governor David Paterson, actress Michael Michele, designer Tommy Hilfiger and wife Dee Hilfiger, music mogul Russell Simmons, actress and television host Star Jones, Food Network host Sandra Lee, Gabrielle’s Angel founder Denise Rich, Gabrielle’s Angel board member and gala chair Michelle Rella and husband Frank Rella, neo-pop artist Romero Britto, model Victoria Silvstedt, and philanthropist Jean Shafiroff, just to name a few.
