Donna Karan, Kelly Ripa, Emma Stone & Ariel Foxman Prep for Super Saturday

Since Donna Karan first launched Super Saturday in memory of the late much loved fashion editor Liz Tilberis, this ultimate garage sale of designer duds has become one of the best and most popular summer charity events in the Hamptons. This year, Emma Roberts and Kelly Ripa will join with Karan, Ariel Foxman and InStyle to host this super sale to benefit The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF). It takes place on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at Nova’s Ark Project in Water Mill, New York from 1:00PM – 6:00PM with a special preview hour beginning at Noon.

The big draw is the one-of-a-kind designer garage sale which pulls in savvy shoppers from all over the East Coast. The LIRR trains will be jammed in the morning with gals prepped for the experience of shopping on a polo field – wearing easy to remove garments and flat shoes to try on the merchandise from over 200 prominent designers including: Donna Karan, Judith Lieber, Theory, Jimmy Choo, Pratesi, Robert Rodriguez, Diane von Furstenberg, Elizabeth & James, Haute Hippie and Ralph Lauren. For the fourth consecutive year, the “Designers A to Zoe” booth by Rachel Zoe will feature luxury designers such as Kara Ross, Rag & Bone, Marc Jacobs, Elise Overland, Jean Paul Gaultier and Etro among others/ Beware it can get like a soccer scrum at times with buyers tugging on the last DVF wrap dress in size 6! Isaac Mizrahi

Great Chefs

The Great Chefs Dinner on Sunday at the Hayground School in Bridgehampton ranks as my all time favorite food event of the season, Launched by a handful of celebrity chefs to honor their colleague the late Jeff Salaway, the event has morphed into the must attend event of the year for serious foodies - and why not with such world class chefs at the stoves such as Jonathan Waxman, Joseph Realmuto, Marc Meyer Josh Capon, Claudia Fleming, Marc Forgione and more. Best part of all proceeds go to the Jeff Salaway Scholarship Fund at the progressive Hayground School which Jeff co-founded with his wife Toni Ross, Barry & Susan Sonnenfeld, Roy & Brenda Scheider, Jonathan Snow and several others committed to the philosophy that art is at the center of life not the periphery.

This year, fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi will be the guest "chef" and will be making dessert Tequila cherry chocolate chip ice cream. There's an overwhelming amount of food at this event, which is divided into two parts: It kicks off with a cocktail hour and then there's a full sit down dinner afterwards in the school’s Jeff’s Kitchen.

The Chefs Dinner series is the primary fundraiser for Bridgehampton's own Hayground School and an annual tribute to the late Jeff Salaway, a widely respected and beloved restaurateur and one of the school's co-founders. The 2010 event raised $200,000 for Jeff's Kitchen and the Jeff Salaway Scholarship Fund. Says Nick & Toni's Toni Ross, "Jeff believed that the growing, preparation and sharing of food is a primal human experience and the foundation of family and community." Jeff's Kitchen is a full service professional kitchen and classroom fitted with top-of-the-line Viking appliances and a new pizza oven. Classes in nutrition, food science and cooking are held there for both children and adults. Completing the facility, recently a professional Farmtek greenhouse was erected by Hayground students, staff and friends with funds provided by Slow Food.
