DR.IAN AND TODD SCHULTZ ON MAKEOVER MILE
Dr, Ian Smith wrapped up his "Makeover Mile" Tour this past weekend in Chicago. It was his best turnout yet out of his seven city tour which included New Orleans, Memphis, Detroit, New York, St. Louis and Miami. Dr. Ian enlisted the help of local Chicago celebrities and one national celebrity, Todd Schultz, from The Jerry Springer Show. When Todd was asked why he did it, he replied, "I would do anything for the Doc. He is a great friend and he supports the same charities I do. So when Dr. Ian has a cause, I am there."
The Makeover Mile helps bring awareness and opportunity to undeserved communities throughout the U.S. The Makeover Mile is a grassroots program that stages a one mile walk in communities that are most adversely affected by obesity related illnesses and lack of access to health care. These walks are constructed with an intention of encouraging participants to seize the moment today in order to steer their lives towards a healthier tomorrow, with a free heath fair at the end of the walk.
When Todd was asked how he did on the walk, he said with a smirk, "My side had a pain in it after the first 100 yards, but then I got my second wind and was fine."
Todd claims that after finishing the taping of the 20th Season of The Jerry Springer Show in early May, he has gone from 265 to 250 pounds. He still has a long way to go before he reaches his target weight of at least 230 pounds. Dr. Ian wants him lower but is proud of what he has achieved so far.
