This 2011 summer season started with Hamptons Magazine hosting their Annual Memorial Day Celebration with cover star Chelsea Handler at new hotspot Southampton Social Club—a restaurant and lounge that resembles a late prohibition speakeasy mixed with Hamptons style flair— presented by Niche Media Chairman Jason Binn and wife Haley, Publisher Debra Halpert and Editor-in-Chief Samantha Yanks. Many came out to celebrate the magazine as guests were treated to hors d’oeuvres crafted by the restaurant and lounge owners Ian Duke and David Hilty, specialty cocktails from Belvedere Vodka and musical entertainment by Steel Entertainment Group’s DJ Issy, who was specially flown in from Amsterdam. Guests were also provided with swag from event sponsors including Lacoste watches, hats, mints and gift cards. The event was also sponsored by web search engine Bing, with special thanks to William Hill Estate Winer and Lamarca Prosecco.

Those who came out to support the cover girl included model Beth Ostrosky-Stern and celebrity chef & author Katie Lee, who were among the first to arrive on the step-n-repeat. Southampton Social Club owner Ian Duke was seen chatting with Real Housewives of New York City Kelly Bensimon, as well as posing for pictures with R&B Singer Estelle, Gossip Girl Tika Sumpter and Actor Kyle MacLachlan. Models Jessica White and Lisalla Montenegro sipped cocktails while The Spin Crowd’s Jonathan Cheban and Simon Huck greeted friends, as a limousine pulled in front of the restaurant; transporting best-selling author and TV talk host Chelsea Handler. Stepping out with a small entourage of family, including hotelier beau Andre Balazs, the cover star greeted Niche Media Chairman Jason Binn with a hug. Others celebrities that attended the soirée included: The Real Housewives of New York City Ramona and Mario Singer, Inside the Actors Studio James Lipton, Producer Desiree Gruber, Musician Matt White and New York Philanthropist Jean Shafiroff, Chair of the 53rd Annual Southampton Hospital Summer Party to be held on Saturday, August 6, 2011. The celebration continued into the night as many guests stayed for dinner and cocktails at Southampton Social Club, which features an innovative American menu from Executive Chef Matt Creason.
