Shinnecock Museum Strawberry Moon Festival
Join a celebration of local Native American culture and heritage, and enjoy traditional summer foods at the Strawberry Moon Harvest Festival. A highlight will be “Wicki Walks” - guided tours of the Museum’s mini preview “living history” Village - traditional dance and canoe making demonstrations that allow guests of all ages to learn, participate and have fun; a corn cob eating contest and visit by feathered friends from the Quogue Wildlife Refuge. The Festival will be held at the Shinnecock Museum, Saturday, July 31, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is a free outdoor event on Montauk Highway in Southampton. The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund’s (OCRF) 13th Annual Super Saturday The bid daddy of fashion sales The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund’s (OCRF) 13th Annual Super Saturday will take place on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Nova’s Ark Project in Water Mill. Donna Karan co-hosts the super sale along with Kelly Ripa and Ariel Foxman of In Style. This daylong fundraiser will include its famous one-of-a-kind designer garage sale, a kids’ carnival, gourmet dining and exciting activities galore. Ticket prices for Super Saturday 13 are $450 (regular) or $650 (preview) for adults and $150 for children ages five to 16. Kids under five will be admitted free of charge. Preview tickets include access to an exclusive pre-shopping hour from 12 noon to 1 p.m. as well as a well stuffed goodie bag making the extra $200 more than worth it! ACRIA Cocktails
ACRIA Cocktails at Sunset 2010 Presented by Calvin Klein Collection and Vanity Fair, Ross Bleckner with a little help from his friends Andre Balazs, Sandra Brant, Nan Bush, Bob Colacello, Francisco Costa, Steven Klein, Andrew Saffir, Elizabeth Saltzman, Ingrid Sischy, Darren Star, Bruce Weber and Italo Zucchelli will host the annual Cocktails at Sunset to benefit ACRIA. The MisShapes will perform. Founded almost 20 years ago, ACRIA has contributed to the development of more than a dozen medications that have received FDA approval, helping countless thousands of HIV-positive people live longer, healthier lives. Best part is the cocktail reception from 7pm to 11pm will be held at famed photographer Steven Klein’s farm – the one where Madonna took a tumble. Tickets are $300, $500 & $2,000. ARF Beach Ball Animal lovers will definitely make a beeline to the ARF Beach Ball presented by The Animal Rescue Fund. Cocktails, a raw bar, dinner, dancing, a silent auction, and a beach bonfire are part of the festivities at the Bridgehampton Tennis and Surf Club in support of ARF’s valiant cats and dogs. Oscar Winner Mercedes Ruehl reads My Brilliant Divorce Don’t miss the absolutely brilliant Oscar, Golden Globe, Tony and Obie award winner Mercedes Ruehl as she performs a staged reading of Geraldine Abron’s “My Brilliant Divorce at Guild Hall in East Hampton. If you were lucky enough to have seen her as flashy art philanthropist Peggy Guggenheim in “Woman before a Glass”, you know what I mean Aron is the author of twelve plays produced for television and radio, and 'Toscanini', a screenplay directed by Franco Zeffirelli. Her hugely acclaimed one-woman show 'My Brilliant Divorce' has been performed all over the world and was nominated for an Olivier Award in 2004.
