DEMI MOORE REACTS TO ALLEGED SUICIDE

Hollywood star Demi Moore's response to an allegedly suicidal woman on Twitter helped spark an intervention by the California police. A message on Twitter.com from a user named SandieGuy read: "Getting a knife, a big one that is sharp. Going to cut my arm down the whole arm so it doesn't waste time." Moore responded to the horrible posting on Friday: "Hope you are joking," and later discovered her reply had led legions of her fans to call into the San Jose Police Department for help. A spokesperson for the police department has confirmed authorities "did locate the subject," who had not hurt herself and was taken in for medical evaluation, reports blogger Perez Hilton. Moore later added: "Everyone I was very torn about responding or retweeting that woman's post but felt uncomfortable just letting it go ... "Thanks everyone for reaching out to the San Jose PD i am told they are aware and no need to call anymore. I do not know this woman ... And if it is a joke it is not funny and nor is this an appropriate (sic) outlet for such a serious matter Time for us to move on."
