Pop star Lily Allen is suffering a broken heart after she was dumped by boyfriend Ed Simons, just weeks after suffering a miscarriage.The singer and Simons were distraught last month after learning Allen had lost their baby. And despite putting on a united front for the media following the sad news, Simons has now decided to end his five-month romance with the 22-year-old star, leaving her devastated, according to published reports. A close pal tells the British newspaper The Sun, "They tried to make things work but couldn’t. The miscarriage was a horrible experience for both of them and in recent weeks the mood between them had been really strained."Lily is really upset things haven’t worked out for her and Ed. She had talked about settling down for good and having a family. But there is a big age difference and the heartbreak they had to cope with was too much too early in their relationship." A representative for Allen has refused to comment on the couple’s split.
