JOHN MELLENCAMP WANTS JOHN MCCAIN TO STOP USING HIS SONGS ON CAMPAIGN TRAIL

Rock star John Mellencamp is reaching out to Republican presidential candidate John McCain in a bid to stop the U.S. senator from using his music on the campaign trail. Mellencamp, a Democrat, is distressed to hear his tunes Our Country and Pink Houses are being used as Republican anthems at most of the McCain rallies. And now the songwriter’s aides have asked McCain to refrain from using the songs, according to Rolling Stone magazine. No word yet if McCain will switch to Cyndi Laupers, Girls Just Want To Have Fun.
