According to new reports, toxic Hollywood party girl Britney Spears will spend another 14 days in the mental hospital. According to
People magazine, only her psychiatrist would have had the authority to request the involuntary stay. The Associated Press also reported the development, saying the decision was made by doctors and a medical officer at UCLA Medical Center's psychiatric hospital in Los Angeles California. Without the intervention, Spears could have been released today. People said the singer could still be let out earlier if she legally demanded to be released or her condition improved enough for doctors to consider outpatient treatment. The magazine also quoted a source "close to the Spears family" on its website today saying: "It is a terrible situation. Britney is in a padded room. Her family is very worried about her." Spears was taken from her mansion by ambulance to the Medical Center last week for a three-day psychiatric evaluation. A Los Angeles court has placed the assets of the singer under the temporary control of her father while she remains in psychiatric care.

The one thing that really mattered were her sons. Rather than mentoring and monitoring her parenting, the courts removed them from her thereby finishing her self destruction while also "saving" the boys. (Yet, I don't believe the boys are in any place much better. They, too, will need counseling and an understanding of why their mother quit on them. )
