BOBBY BROWN GETS COMMUNITY SERVICE

Whitney Houston's estranged husband Bobby Brown is avoiding jail time for his December arrest for drug possession and he’s agreed to a year of community service instead. Brown was taken into custody by Massachusetts police following an incident in a Brockton Holiday Inn hotel, where he was found to be in possession of cocaine. Prosecutors wanted to press charges of possession of cocaine against Brown, but a Brockton District Court clerk magistrate ruled on Tuesday that there was no probable cause for a criminal complaint. The judge recommended volunteer work for Brown as a mentor to young people, to which the star’s attorney agreed. The singer and sometimes reality show star will also have the incident wiped from his records if he stays out of trouble for the next year.
